Rabies Outbreak
During May and June 2016 a number of rabies cases were confirmed in the Lanseria and Muldersdrift area. In these cases it is believed that wild Jackals were infected with rabies and spread it to unvaccinated domestic dogs. Human exposures have also been reported and treated accordingly.
It is of extreme importance that all your animals are up to date with their vaccinations. We at Fernridge Vet, are very particular when it comes to vaccinations. Our regular clients can rest assured that we routinely check that vaccinations are up to date.
If you are unsure or have any questions regarding the outbreak please do not hesistate to contact us for help.
